Description

4 hours; 4 credits. An advanced workshop, this course directs students with a particular emphasis on aspects of form. Students may write poems in free-verse and traditional forms, which may include the sonnet, the sestina, and the villanelle. Students will use assigned texts as models for the creation of original poems. The course will involve classroom critique of students' poetry. For English majors and minors, this is designated as a writing course. (liberal arts and sciences) Prerequisite or Corequisite: ENL 267 or ENL 372
