An examination of how the Supreme Court has interpreted the economic and military powers of the federal government, how it deals with state attempts to regulate business, and how it has resolved disputes about the proper jurisdiction of the three branches of the federal government. The problems facing the U.S. court systems, and the variables affecting the formulation of judicial policy are considered. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or permission of the instructor.
