Description
4 hours; 4 creditsAn examination of judicial processes and politics in the United States with a focus on the relationship among strategies of legal mobilization, law, and public policy. The course startswith political theorist Alexis de Tocqueville's observation that "there is hardly a political question in the United States which does not sooner or later turn into a judicial one." The role and effectiveness of the courts and judges as policymakers, and the role of the courts in the policy implementation process will be considered.
